How could they, after the last track on TH, "Semena Mertvykh", wich is so dark and perfectly reflective of the album as a whole, come back with a track as hopeful in both its nature and musicality as this tape 05?

Thank you brothers.

Hey everyone!

Getting on the topic after a first sleep on this new and amazing material.
I may be totally wrong but I keep on thinking "Tape 05" is still a "teaser" of what is to come.

The track feels like they are self-referencing:

- 1st part: linked to Smemenah Mertvykh and overall TH feel, this time with hope and clearly referencing the melody from "Buckie High".
- Overall construction: Dayvan Cowboy, providing build-up, all time high momentum with the beautiful heavenly harp (but not quite reaching it), then a bittersweet release. The brothers said it in an interview, we are just cells crawling on a rock in need of religion/cults/spirituality as a way to escape/find the reason of life...but never quite found it yet.
- Final part: is giving me a lot of Olson/1986 Summer fire vibe, comforting but as usual bittersweet, it is also definitely an organ referencing many of their past religion linked works such IABPOITC, Geogaddi or One Very Important Thought. Finally, radio chatters, glitches, voices reflecting their overall discography.
- In regards to the imagery, all clear references to the BoC universe, 80's commercials, childish blurred shots with flying birds, I also remember we were talking about the "Owl of Minerva" in the past (Third Eyed Owl), Waco is now replaced by Rajneeshpuram...Sanyasins were left by their leaders, the cult still goes on but without its essence...it all leads to a NuClearDawn (Warp Selections cover).
- I already said that in another post, but until today most new releases were hinted with one hexagon, even when they did represses each album was representing an hexagon which was part of an ensemble. This time we got 7 hexagons. Could they represent the 6 unofficially released, The 7th being LP5?

Where did you see this? I haven’t been able to find anything like that

Also wondering about this.

Absolutely loving Tape 05. It sounds to me like this new track has the same chord progression as this one from R35TT:

After a good night sleep, I've listened to this 3 times on my morning walk in nature with my dog.

I'm still hyped as fuck, it's amazing!

Ok, hands up, who's been listening to this on loop all night while quite high?

...like, all night long. Anybody? Hello?

It is weird I had a great nights sleep last night for the first time in a good while.

And the video is still there, I didn't dream it.

I don't think in all the years of despising YouTube comments and trolls that I have ever seen such a unanimously optimistic thread. It almost gives you faith that we're not actually fucked after all.

I'd love to know who did the visuals. There's obviously been a lot of Adam Curtis-style archive digging going on and it's an insane bit of editing. Also getting serious Mark Romanek vibes from his Hurt video for Johnny Cash which did similarly crazy things to the heartstrings.

It's genuinely thoughtful and impactful videography. I don't think it's literally Boards themselves, but if it turned out it was them, it wouldn't exactly surprise me either.
