I can’t imagine they have more info than anybody else at this stage. I assume it is lazy journalism, just a quick scan of the tracklist and “oh there’s no track called Tape 05 on the album” and not thinking it could be Track 5, which is of similar length and also presumably the last track of side one or first track of side two.

This, yes.
They didn't see Tape 05 on the tracklist. But that doesn't mean it's not there under its real title (Father And Son).

Perhaps the first track, "Introit," is a tribute to the song "Introit" by French composer William Sheller, which is also the intro to his album "Lux aeterna"

For all my hip-hop fans, it's also the main sample from the masterpiece that is the album Deltron 3030, and more specifically, track 3030.

It is also a hymn used to open Catholic religious service.

Perhaps a double, triple tribute, who knows?

Also find it funny that one of the pages linked to from that Flickr page shows a font like it being used for the title card of the old TV show Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?

Indeed! :)

Just tried ordering the special edition LP from Bleep. Looks like it has sold out. Oh well.

Looks like it's still available on Bandcamp. Speaking of Bandcamp, my email confirmation says this:

"Estimated to ship June 3, 2026 and estimated to arrive no later than June 17, 2026"

So the benefit of pre-ordering is to receive the record several weeks later than everyone else.

The only qualm I have personally is that there seems to be no vignettes (bar tracks 1 & 8) on this record which is a little disapointing.

Thanks for the link. I tried it - but shipping from the States is pricey and seems a bit pointless. So I have now ordered it from Rough Trade. Paid a bit more plus another fiver for shipping but I guess that's the idiot tax I had to pay. :D

I reset it yesterday right after the announcement because the all-time high, which was around March 27 at nearly 10,000, wasn’t really representative. We’ve had situations like that before, where the forum got raided by groups doing it just for fun...and a bit of bot party might've come along with it either at time.

Let’s hope this milestone holds for a while or at the very least, that it won’t be beaten by something unrelated to BoC!

Huge shoutout to Techboy for hosting Twoism.org for me. It’s amazing how well it held up yesterday and the past weeks!

It’s strange that they haven’t put Bleep behind Cloudflare b4 the launch, especially since the same thing happened during TH...

I did not realise Bandcamp orders shipped from US... I assumed they had a UK warehouse? Shipping is only £5.69 for me

Father And Son is a perfect title for Tape 05… I’ve questioned it being on the album because it just sounds so much like VHS tape.

It is interesting how Societas is referenced in the album description on Rough Trade, and there is the continuous mix option. Maybe Inferno will have the feel of a mixtape with a wide stylistic range - and tracks like Tape 05 will play right next to songs that have their own, distinct sound world.

If this is the reason someone assumes it isn’t there then that’s a bit moronic. Tape 05 refers to the 5th LP and the video was a teaser for it

Definitely. I can’t imagine deciding to write that in an article just because the name “Tape 05” wasn’t on the tracklist.

If it is on the album then we’d have heard a ‘single’ before the album was even announced, which is a unique approach. The question is will there be a song released in the same way as Reach for the Dead between now and the 29th.
