I have a really weird feeling this might be a live FSOL ISDN type thing, perhaps to the seven locations at the same time. The word “Sessions” is usually used for some sort of in-the-studio live jamming, recording. It’s such an unusual word to use otherwise. I guess the other possibility is it is not live but there is some kind of short film showing the sessions during the recording of the album, maybe the whole album is more of a live sound they spent the last 13 years practicing how to play live with a band?

I was kind of thinking the same thing. I'm 100% sure I saw a quote from the brothers from maybe the Geogaddi era of how they wanted to make some sort of film - maybe that's them doing that now.

So you already received a confirmation email and a ticket link? I didn’t get any of that after selecting London, but maybe it’s managed differently depending on the city.

Berlin Inferno session….location?

This would certainly be an amazing spot for the session; the now abandoned disused airport Berlin Tegel, the hexagon theme is present in terminal buildings and parking lot/driveways.

Keen to know if any of you are aware of hexagon related venues/locations known at the other session locations?

It's currently being converted into part of the new London Museum and thus a building site, alas, but these glass panels are part of Smithfield Poultry Market and well BoC

Ah even though I entered for one of cities, It's still really far away from me and I currently struggle with a lot of mental health issues so probably won't end up going, but the idea of actually going to an offical BoC event and meeting other fans and witnessing the live release of a new ablum sounds like one of the coolest things ever conceived haha. Will prorbably download the album onto my mp3 player when it comes out and go to the top of a mountain near where I live, wait til sunset and listen to it in all it's glory! :D :D

New York selection confirmed. I have a feeling it could be at Rough Trade at Rockefeller Center (they have a second store / event space downstairs). Now just to get thru this lottery...

Who is planning on going to New York? I'm tempted to and signed up for the lottery. If there's a large number of board members attending this location that'll make me check travel prices...

I will be attempting to get a ticket for the New York session. I ultimately would rather listen alone for the first time but the thought of hearing the album loud is really enticing.

I'll most assuredly turn up in Barcelona, although I wonder about specific location and attendance.
It seems like an odd choice considering ours has never been a city known for its electronic music scene, much less IDM-related. All the better for me in any case.

Not to pry into your issues, but I've always had to contend with mental illness (social anxiety, agoraphobia and mild-to-severe psychosis) when attending live shows and concerts. It's always a bit of a challenge, but focusing on the music helps in no small degree to ease up and enjoy myself. Plus (a hunch, maybe) a venue filled with Boards of Canada fans must be one of the nicest imaginable.

Your summit-at-dawn plan doesn't sound at all bad either. :D

I have registered interest in the London listening party. I've not worked out the details if I was able to do it, but it's a just a car (plus tube) journey away and I already had the day booked off as leave.

The alternative is to do what I did with TH, which was to sit and listen alone with the record player.

So does first access not really mean anything if it’s up to a lottery system? Signed up right away for NYC, a bit of a journey, but I’d do it if “selected”.
