Wow, first an error and after a couple of tries I was 1st in que and right after that it was sold out. I guess it all was within 2 minutes. Damn..did not expect this. I wonder how many tickets were available and how many had already been reserved in advance... :(

Can't help feel that this 'first come first served' strategy will cause way more disappointment than joy. I would not have gone down this route personally with the marketing campaign.

I don't know if there's any better way.

If there's 300 tickets, and 5,000 people want them, how do you choose who gets one and who doesn't?

Allow everyone to enter their code and then await notification of whether your code has won or not. So more like a raffle. First come first served just feels unfair and frustrating as we can see above.

Random / raffle would be best for sure. I sometimes thing this kind of set-up today is effectively random though. When it's 5,000 people trying to access the site at the same time, whoever the site determines as being "first" is effectively a lottery.

Gaaaah, was number 20 in the queue. Got to checkout and a Cloudflare timeout error.

Now 220 in the queue...

Pain.

For some reason I couldn't click 'Accept' on the cookies box for a while.

Well, I don't what to say... got onto the site, selected two tickets successfully, clicked next step, then got a cloudflare 404 error thingy. Refreshed, got through again, and it was sold out.

All Im getting is "This page is not available right now. Please contact the event organiser." in every refresh. Very poor show.
