Some of us still enjoy the actual authentic experience of an album. Y'know like, how it's intended to be consumed.

Btw those of you saying that they want us to listen tomorrow - pure cope without a doubt.

We all know Boards of Canada cherish the artform of an album. I'm not judging anyone for indulging, but trying to argue that they don't want you to have a legit novel experience with their new album is just crazy.

Go ahead though, wear it out! Not my brain.

And to be clear, no I'm not saying they "don't want you to listen tomorrow", but come on guys, in terms of experiencing an album - you know they agree with my sentiment.

It's okay to be correct, sorry.

Heck yea!! Glad they came through on a pre-release single...the wait til the 29th is hard enough heh.

I will 100% be listening. Multiple times. Probably, hundreds or thousands of times before May 29th. I love this band but I would never deny obsessing over the first new track in 13 years. I did the same thing in 2013 with Reach for the Dead and this will be no different. Being able to take in the album in its entirety is another adventure altogether. This is just a piece of the puzzle, and I cannot wait to hear it! Thankfully, I start work a little later tomorrow, so I should have time for several listens!!
The preparation for a dive is always a tense time.

They’re releasing music for everyone to listen to tomorrow. I appreciate your approach but singles are a part of the entire experience - and this feels especially unique because we’re hearing the first two tracks with a video.

To me it’s more about being intentional with the way one listens to music.

An album is an album is an album is an album, and I'll enjoy the videos after I experience the album how albums are supposed to be albumed.

Don't blame me when you're al-bummed!

Oh!!!!!!!

Oof, I hope this comment is tongue in cheek. To act like you “know” the famously reclusive brothers’ intent is parasocial and weird. “You know they agree with my sentiment”, lol no, we don’t know that. But yeah, you can be the one who has the “actual authentic experience”

Also a separate comment a couple back about having multiple ai agents deciphering the thumbnail hurt my soul a little. Thought I might as well say that here too

there’is no correct way to do anything and we should all just tap into our inner voice to decide what is best for us. whatever causes you to feel most open to the work.

Seven in the morning? That's gonna be rough. I know it will be worth it, but that's still gonna be rough.

Robert Beatty posted online that he does not use AI (or After Effects) at all in his work. I wouldn’t expect the band to work with anyone who does of course but a relief to see him say this explicitly!

Maybe Introit isn’t the introductory video and it’s going to sound like a Christian hymn?

So I take it all you non-listeners didn’t listen to Tape 05 then? Hate to break it to you but that’s likely Father and Son.

Not listening -- already imagineered listening to the wax in full at a friends record store listening room day of delivery before this notice. Good opinions and reasoning from all though (normal black vinyl) interesting thread

edit : probably will watch the video without sound in a lawn chair though
