Wowsers. Three different browsers open and my phone, and only once got through to choosing number of tickets, seconds after 10:00. Then I just reverted to sold out and couldn’t get to next step.

I managed to get 2 tickets for London! Still recovering from the adrenaline rush. I was repeatedly refreshing the page and entering the code just before 10:00 until it let me through. Rushed through the t-shirt ordering stage without adding any so hopefully they'll also be available to buy at the event. Sorry to those of you who weren't so lucky!

Yeah that wasn't right - instantly all gone in seconds. The time it took for me to click the + arrow then hit the proceed button.
I do wish they came up with a better way than this nonsense.

Sorry you didn't get em. I know exactly how you feel, I was there for the original sale and it's so disappointing. Sending hugs to anyone who missed out. :-(

Having remembered what others had tried last time, I've refreshed a few times over the past hour and found tickets were suddenly available to add again for a split second only to disappear again... so frustrating.

The weird thing is all 3 sessions are in green when you go to select the time, when before the original two were greyed out with the 'join waiting list' message. Probably zero chance any of us will get one now but part of me wants to keep trying... argh.

My theory is that as soon as any tickets are added to someone’s order, they are removed from the available pile, until they are either purchased or discarded. If discarded, they are then returned to the available pile again until they are added to another order, and so on.

This prevents someone from reaching the payment stage when there are no more tickets left to claim, and explains why all of the tickets appeared to ‘sell out’ instantaneously, when hundreds of people clicked on them at the same time.

I'm old. I remember having to queue for hours outside a box office to get tickets. People jumping the queue, holding places for friends, etc. Still somehow seemed fairer than the random lottery of online ticketing.

Yep, even as recent as 2003 when Bowie announced a date at the Hammersmith Odeon and tickets were only available in person, I really rather enjoyed getting up at 4am and nattering to others whilst queuing. Living in London at the time certainly helped!

Yeah this sounds about right... enough time has passed now that I'm regretfully having to accept the dream is dead*

Congrats to those who got tickets and sorry to those who didn't. Heads up for anyone travelling in for the London sessions, especially the early one, there is a tube strike planned. It's supposed to end at midday on Friday, but there may be some disruption still in the afternoon, so give yourself plenty of time if you want to be on the safe side

Friday 22 May
After midday - continued disruption to journeys throughout the afternoon and evening as we return the service to normal
Evening - normal service

If anyone is going to The Jacaranda in Liverpool give me a shout, she did say people are welcome to just turn up.

As a massive Beatles fan/nerd, I am really happy to see the Jacaranda involved with this album launch :-)
