We try our best going through life doing what we think is just. Sure, we mainly do this for the benefit of ourselves and sometimes our family, but we also contribute to The Greater Good (I'm not about to give all my time making soup for the homeless, but I do think I make a few choices, where I can, where circumstances will let me, that make this world a better place). But it wears you down when you see the meagre scale of your efforts as compared to the vast unthinking majority. You eventually give up rather than being forced to implode.

The most disappointing thing to me is how the stuff on the nature strips keeps multiplying. For some reason nobody wants it. Nobody come pick up. Furniture everywhere. Then yesterday Chinaman stole my seat! You know me don't like racism. Went for hike on favourite path. Enjoy nature. Finish want rest. Then Chinaman steal seat! Only seat! Me walk again not happy. Me go home no photo.

What was it that made you lose your optimistic outlook (you can't say this thread)?

You'll have to explain, I'm familiar with Moby.

No, you're going to have to spell a few things out to me. I don't know what you're talking about in this case unfortunately, I want to follow but you're assuming I know what that means.

I was hoping that this thread would be a slightly tongue-in-cheek opportunity for everyone to reveal why they are so jaded with life. I am mostly known as the earnest optimistic one so I was slightly in character you see.

What is the straw that unbreaks the back? I feel I got it backwards and get less jaded over time.

He's playing some cheesy beats over a loop of Laura Palmer's theme while dancing in a goofy way and pretending to DJ a synthesizer that isn't even plugged in, intermittently shouting "go" into the microphone.

Maybe you take no issue with that and that's good. He probably had the best intentions.

Apologies. My initial reply was a long standing joke between me and 2020k.

Basically...

To my ears, both Moby and Lilly Allen are rather the aural equivalent of having my nuts roughly removed with a rusty spoon and then bathing the wound in malt vinegar.

2020k, although I love the guy dearly, actually LIKES them. Poor sod.

I agree with you here. I love Moby. I love Lilly Allen. But what are these two doing together? I have a love and hate relationship with both to be fair. But Moby takes my heart especially due to Porcelain. It was literally the first track I ever listened to in my life.

That would be me.

Grace Slick is on record as hating that entire era of Starship saying she only did it for the money. It's got corny-ass boomer lyrics and the whole thing was built by producers.

Counterpoint: cheese is good actually, 1980s synth rock had some pretty good producers, and I'd much rather listen to someone using synths to make energetic expressions of unfiltered genuine joy than a lot of the ironically detached copy pasted sadboys that cropped up in the 90s. There was the threat of the world ending and they decided to party and paint the world neon. Enjoy it!

Moby on the other hand, since I'm commenting, went on record to say his favourite game in boring press events was to whip his knob out and press it onto unsuspecting party goers. He's since tried to get away with that by saying one of them was Donald Trump but that's not who was in that story the first time he told it.

He's a creepy little guy who's biggest album had every track sold to be an advert for something.

Lily Allen is a harmless nepo-baby

Moby is an awful prick but this tune is excellent (might be biased cos of its use in Heat).

Only recently found out she was the singer in Jefferson Airplane and it's almost ruined White Rabbit for me. Almost.

Anyway, can't help but feel I unintentionally hijacked this thread. Apologies!

With BoC you get bonus FlexiDiscs, with Moby you get bonus FlexiDicks. Choose wisely.

I like Moby. I’ll learn Allen. I’d like to see Natalie Portman in there as well.
