I feel the same way. I think an EP would be the next thing to drop. Beyond that, some sort of visual media. Still have a feeling the VHS was a taste of something else to come other than just the album...could totally be off the mark...Just seems so fitting for them to do a DVD that includes all official videos and new videos for older songs...even unreleased stuff. There is so much they could do with a release like that. My imagination just runs wild....

Speaking of unreleased stuff, would love to get older material that was previously never released. You know "The BoC Set."

Something that has been talked about on this forum since I joined.

For some reason, I really don't think we'll have long to wait for something more. I think the flexi disk is a clue. I think their ages are a clue. They definitely have kids, and those kids are now in high school at least. When your kids leave the house you suddenly have massive amounts of free time
I don't think they're just going to putter in their bunker of 10,000 songs Forever

What if... only Mike was credited on Inferno because Marcus was working on BOCset.

Heyyy, yeah perhaps!

I also am optimistic about a near-future release, for some reason.

Maybe Marcus is assisting with a follow-up EP in the same vein as 'Trans Canada Highway?'

My prediction is an EP release either in 2027, or early 2028.

I have a theory that this is Mike's personal response to poor treatment from the church to himself or people he loves. The album was still a joined effort, but it may be similar to how The Wall was really the mind-child of Roger Waters, even though the rest of Pink Floyd was there in full force, kicking ass. This album was something Mike perhaps really wanted to get off his chest. Marcus was more than happy to be there to make it with him in full support.

They said in a interview in 2013 that they had a few releases ready for the near future, so maybe some of that might see the day after Inferno has settled for some months or a year?

Nah. People have said that after each of the last three albums. I don't think they're done.

It feels like where the hell do they go from here now though? The themes behind this album are so huge - universal consciousness, religion, death, rebirth, heaven, hell, nihilism. It's the BOC magnus opus. I just hope I'm wrong and you're right!

Must admit - I got that feeling too. It felt almost like a summing up of everything they've done before. That; the change to writing credits and the "thanks" to friends & family did make me wonder... I hope I'm wrong; but if that is it - what a way to sign off.

So, I have to say: My mind is darting around, frantically chasing various depths of theories and explanations for songs, parts of songs, samples, artwork, song titles, references..... I have wanted this feeling again for so long and IT'S BACK!

This band is the best. The. best.

In regards to the flexidisc bonus track, so this is logged in a place where most people tend to go:

The "To your brother" loop, from a nostalgic McDonalds training video in conjunction with this being a Music70 release only kind of leads me to believe a couple of things:

1. The notion that they were under a 5 LP contract from Warp and that they fulfilled it for this one is true.

2. It is possible too that they were waiting to do the BOCSet until they got out of their contract. If the flexidisc confirms they've been released, they KNOW the BOCset will make them bank, so they'll do it now under Music70 and will barely have to do a thing to promote it. Money for them, their kids are nearing college age so money for them too. Win, win, win, sorry Warp, go do your weird marketing things with somebody else.

3. They hate each other. It just sounds spiteful to me. Okay, okay, I'm being glib here but all of this and no interviews? Something IS NOT RIGHT between them rn for Godtheultimateresonance knows why.

Not sure why, but I also kind of hope they can figure out releasing independent from warp and they go off doing even weirder things.

I would have petitioned for the close of this forum if I had not seen this thread today, or tomorrow at the latest. Lovely stuff!

Wholeheartedly agree. The best. I have a feeling that we may get records from “both sides” of BoC… like an album from Mike, then an album from Marcus…. at least I think it’d be a cool idea.
