I keep coming back to this one. It's haunting and beautiful in every way.
My thoughts immediately. Very reminiscent of Geogaddi. Listening to this one in the morning in back yard as the sun peaked through the trees and nature started to wake up was an incredible moment.

This has to be one of those tracks that did not make it into TH. The vibes match. Mass destruction and desolation.

This is exactly the kind of track I would hope for from a 2026 Boards of Canada release. Fantastic.

Still haven't listened to the album properly but happened to hear a snippet of this so I thought F it and listened to the whole track.

This is very good or it's got very solid elements to it but I can't help wishing it did a little more. It feels too repetitive. "Well that's BoC for ya" I know and the track does provide a function the way it is which would be lost if it ventured into more dynamic melody progressions. But if they made another version that did with otherwise the same elements I'd probably prefer that track

By the way it totally sounds like a soundtrack to something. I'm not sure what but this would be epic in a movie

That snare is one of the best snare sounds I've heard

I think I could listen to the intro on a loop for days. I sounds like something that should have been on the old Shockwave / Islands website.

What is that detuned horn sound that warbles in/out in the opening minute of the track? Maybe horn isn't the right word, but it almost sounds like a manipulated car horn or something. Reminds me of a sound they've used in the past.

Oh yeah. It also sounds like Celer a bit. It really encapsulates a foggy/drizzly atmosphere. I'm trying to put my finger on what kind of mood is being conveyed here. It's pretty unique. There are some malevolent undertones but it's not really threatening, it's not really confident.

You mean literally the previous track? :D

The horns sound like they came directly from Palace Posy.

I'm still trying to pin down the vibe on this and for some reason "evil Vsauce music" came to mind. It's not really accurate but the concept of something like that existing was pretty funny. I think it works with strategic video games very well. Maybe a little militant, a little dystopian

Does anyone else hear some sort of chant in the distant background in the second half/last third? I can only pick it up on headphones , but I swear it’s there.

Being the first track at the listening party that we hadn't already previously heard, this was the start of an epic journey. It was so exciting and hit really hard.

This song is completely out of this world

I could not be more impressed with how much it sucks me in and takes hold of my thoughts while listening

The chanting actually starts around 1:50 in right channel but much more faint

It intensifies in the last portion at around 3 minutes in both channels

That horn has got to be one of the greatest things ever. The exalting ending is really something too.

It’s the best track on the album in my opinion as of now. And started off in top 5 but crept way up there

Perfect song for being the first one on the album we hadn't heard on first full listen. I had massive expectations for Inferno after Tape 05 and Prophecy, so in those seconds as Prophecy faded out I couldn't help but feel a bit of tension wondering if it would live up to the hype. First notes of those haunting train whistle type sounds put any doubts to bed. And as soon as that baseline hit, it was pure elation.

Same. Those big powerful baleful chords and its stately pace are so effective. It seriously BODES. One of my top 5 on the record for sure. Also what a track title!

The brass sounds are actually a bit less bright in Palace Posy.

I need to hear this on a massive rig, it's has a sort of wonky dubstep feel to it but much much slower in tempo. The section where the beat cuts back in with extra synths on top is incredible!

Yeah, I thought that on the first listen through this album, too. Especially with "Father and Son". A lot that's tonally and texturally similar, which I loved.
