I don't know.. I'm about as moody as music lovers come, I guess, because after two or three listens I seem to have retired "In Rainbows". I guess it just doesn't fascinate me the way that Kid A did. But, admittedly, I'm an electronic kid at heart, and I think I will always love the sounds of machines.

And plus, I'm really just stuck on MBV right now. And if Radiohead wants to blame someone for that, I recommend blaming Colin Mack.

So, I JUST started listening to this album. I'm only on the second track so I don't have much to say about it musically yet.

I was just thinking about how cool it is that they chose to release it in this manner. Finally, big artists are sticking it to the fucking record labels... just as it should be. The artists are the ones with the talent and the music in their hearts. The companies are just that... companies. Big heartless companies and I hope they finally get what's coming to them.

A lot of what the internet is about I totally despise. However, when used in a situation like this, I think it's true intent really shines through. The internet is breaking down the barriers of fame and helping to level the playing field for EVERYONE with dreams in any area. Now, us underground, amateur, or bedroom recording artists are getting just as much exposure as the big names. Sure, you could use the argument that there's a lot more crap you have to wade through, but in reality it was always there anyway.

Another great thing about the net is YOU personally get to choose what your experience will be. You get to listen to what you want, watch what you want, etc. There's no restrictions like there are on the TV or Radio.

Well anyway, just thinking out loud. 4 songs into the album so far. Digging Weird Fishes/Arpeggi. Yup!

Its the future I think.
Piracy will destroy the music industrie as we know it, but I think it will be reastablished by this way of selling music.
"Want to hear my music? Pay me if you want to support me, don´t if you don´t want to! You want the extras, like posters and artwork? Pay me so-and-so-much!"
What better and more honest way of selling music is there?

That's the way I see it. You also start to take full responsibility for your releases, image, etc. Which I think is the way to go. Why count on some record exec to make you promises about such things when his real interests aren't yours. They just want the $

But anyway, I liked the album. All I Need and Faust Arp are particularly enjoyable. I like the way All I Need builds up toward the end. Beautiful.

I know they're influenced by music like BOC but I just don't get the comparisons here. I mean, the drum beat in Videotape is a little bizarre, sure (sounds like all it really is is two drum hits center channel, run through a couple of weird delays in the left), but I don't really hear anything Gyroscope related here. Of course, this is all a matter of opinion.
