I just grabbed an mp3 of a live version of this! Really one of their better "happier" songs.

The track was named "unknown live track 2" but the lyrics give it away.

The difference though, is that there is no song by them named "Orange (Yeah thats right)" while there is indeed a track called Focus on The Spiral, according to the discography.

Also, PlayByletters, A is to B as B is to C is the one from Geogaddi where the voice says that counting poem, isn't it? Not the same song. I am referring to a track titled "Unknown Live Track 2"

Just wondering in case your track was mislabled... what is the complete time of the track in question? Because I have one that is 11 minutes that has a vocal in it which clearly sounds like "*something* *something* spiral", yet it's not from ATP.

Yeah, I don't think it's from ATP. I have the 11 min track. It think in the file data it says something about "at the Old (something) Brewery" or something like that (I don't have it in front of me to read)

And now that I actually look, the track from Closes Vol.1 Is supposed to be 1:28 long, so I'm guessing this is either a remix or extended version, or (less likely) the track length on that page is misrepresented, and meant to be 11:28 (I'm observing that my track is 11:25, close enough)

But where some of you are not so sure the vocal sample is saying it, I'm positive it's saying "focus on the spiral"

It kind of sounds like 'focus on the', you're right. Until now I thought it was saying 'condescending' but then again, I have a problem where I don't really hear lyrics at all. Who knows. Cool track either way, excellent drums and I love the talkboxy sample at around the six minute mark.

I don't hear "Focus on the spiral" but I AM hearing the "Funky singing" .

Myabe Unkown Track 5 (ATP) is focus on the spiral. I mean it IS 1.28

I hear it at various points in the "funky singing" tune. It's not the vocoded voice that's saying it, one of the various times it appears is around 8:30. It sounds like someone saying "the spiral", or "on the spiral".

BTW take my word for it, it's not Focus On The Spiral. Focus On The Spiral is a very simple tune, nowhere near as complex as this live song. It's not even a remix.

The vocals in the song mean nothing to the name of the song, ie Sunshine Recorder isn't An Eagle In Your Mind. That is even if he's saying what you think, I'm still unsure as to what he's saying.

bottom line though ___ this live song is awesome. Wish I had all the live versions of all their songs in full quality instead of crappy recordings. The remix of Sixtyten at ATP is unbelievably awesome! A hundred times better than the original on MHTRTC. I certainly hope that gets released at some point in time.
