I'd be ok with BoC's next album being 10 different remixes of that song.

TurquoiseSeventy: i went up there, we talked and had a good time, met some really chill guys and got super stoned in The Kiln
TurquoiseSeventy: me and Sean from upstairs
TurquoiseSeventy: we smoked like 4 pinches of this sweet weed from arthur
TurquoiseSeventy: The Kiln is this bathroom on the top floor of my dorm that's like a meat locker or a ...kiln
TurquoiseSeventy: sean went nuts XD he said he was trapped in The Glade. his roommates told me about it...that's where you go when you're super baked out of your head. you get trapped in the Egyptian Temple. and the Kiln has magic powers.
TurquoiseSeventy: it gave me the power to name my own bathroom - the Half Joint. because it's halfway between my and my roommate's dorm and the first time it was smoked in by me was with veronica when we smoked that half joint she got for christmas
TurquoiseSeventy: came to me like an epiphany
TurquoiseSeventy: and i played my OoT disc for them cause they're into BoC
TurquoiseSeventy: and we listened to keith's radio show: Erowid. he plays psychedelic metal.
TurquoiseSeventy: keith is the really intelligent guy from my ethics seminar and logic class who i found out was on his way to the NORML meeting with me a few days ago

You know I have never gotten high. How does it compare to being drunk?

I don't think there's anything i hate in music more than bitcrushed drums, they drive me mental

what really annoys me is when people use bitcrushing as a shortcut to dirty drums, instead of layering/compressing/pitchshifting etc. Yes, it sounds fucked up, well done- but it's lost all the punch and added all these annoying high-end frequencies. It's not that i find the sound inherently annoying (although it can be, dependent on how it's done). Silhouette birds wasn't really the same, since you used it to a kind of 'dramatic effect', like making it sound like a radio tuning in and out (to my ears) and working with the dynamics of the song- that said, there were moments when the bitcrushing was too prominent for my taste (like bits of the blindspot remix). It's all taste anyway, I don't have any right to tell you guys how to make your music... and i don't want to be responsible for denting your creative process turquoise :P

consider it buffed out, E

also twoism is so cool. i was just reading the welcome thread to basepair and looking at the way each person here said hello and thinking, i haven't gotten or seen a welcome thread that cool on -any- other forum (i guess the fact that i can characterize the various welcomes i get on forums reveals me as a huuuge nerd, woops) and thinking 'these people are all cool, creativity without being contrived, this forum is awesome, screw watmm'

twoism is to wattm
as
danks are to picking up discarded cigarette butts and smoking those

You can bitcrush everything and make it sound like something awesome!

Btw, I don't use the bitcrusher that often. I just love this Adlib-FM vst I found. I looked for it for quite some time becouse THATS the sound I grew up with.
