So after much procrastination, I put a deposit down on an engagement ring...... (Shhhh. Not a word to Eleanor!).

Then, because I was feeling quite good, having finally plucked up the courage to do the above, I went and bought a 12" Meatball Marinara (toasted, natch), with cheese, salad and sweet onion chutney. Get in.

Oh, and I bought some new patch leads for my guitar FX and a new set of MIDI cables so I can FINALLY get recording again, which I just spent the last 3 hours doing by the way. Early days but I like the early results. A lot of work to follow over the Summer though.

All in all, a rather productive day of purchases! :D

welcome to the apple family. if you are new to OS/X, the first week is a little painful, as you will be trying to shake all your old windows habits. after that, you will find that for once in your life your computer will work for you, not the other way around. if i can help with any questions you may have, pls dont hesitate to ask. i own a macbook core (1) duo, 512 MB ram myself. the only thing i want to upgrade is my OS and some more ram. other than that i am totally happy with my mac ^_^

Got a 15" MacBook Pro. Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB hard drive, GeForce 8600M GT 256MB. Just need an iPhone now.

Loving it a lot. The first week is a little frustrating but OS X is really smooth and has made me so much more productive and efficient. Sounds silly but even the aesthetics of the OS X interface make using a computer so much less strssful and even quite enjoyable. Just use so many shortcuts all the time and love the Spaces function. Works like magic with my Wacom Intuos 3 tablet. I've even learned to love iTunes.

Got any software recommendations or general OS X tips?

I'm quite enjoying lightscribe, what do you make of it? I guess you do like it as you invested in 100 CDRs of it. They are coming out with colour lightscribe soon ya know.

I just borrowed a mate's drive and bought a batch of CDrs, half of which he is having as I am doing a limited run of CDs for a release from my netlabel. Seems a good way of going about DIY CDs :)

Bought a new 32" HDTV
New desk

Been buying much more than usual due to moving house, getting rid of old stuff, buying stuff for the new place ...

Although not my purchase, my room mate just picked up Rock Band. It's a barrel of monkeys to play with a bunch of pals.

That game rocks many socks..if you played Portal, you should download the song "Still Alive". It is awesome.

Way ahead of you. :D

After 1 day of playing on drums, I'm on Hard difficulty. Still on Expert for guitar and bass. Haven't braved the mic yet.

Fun as hell. I have a big advantage of having 2 room mates. None of us work either  one is living off of his house that sold, the other is on Employment Insurance (which is paying him quite handsomely) and I'm on welfare and soon to be on Disability. It's somehow awesome

I can't help but try and string these into some kind of narrative. What madcap scheme will polar sky think up with a can of coke, some doughnuts, and a jerry can of petrol??
