Played a couple of hours of it lastnight, whilst not a massive GTA fan on the whole, it does seem rather good! The graphics are great, as are the physics etc. At times it feels a little TOO realistic :D The story is taking a long time to unfold but I guess that makes for a lengthier game. I spent most of the time lastnight bowling with my new girlfriend and playing pool with my associate. I'll not spoil anything but I suspect die-hard GTA fans will not be dissapointed in the slightest, as I've found it the most engrossing GTA yet (and I never got into them after GTA 2!)

i played online last night for about 3 hours and again this morning for another hour or so....i really dont have anywords to describe how fun the multiplayer is. there are TONS of modes, but the best being free mode...you and 15 other people have the entire city to basically do what ever you want. last night we were making up games...like first to a helicopter picks up 6 people and then we take out the ones who didnt make it....then we got into a huge shoot out in times square...just to name a few things... its epic

between this game and the new smash brothers i would say this has been one of the best years for video games in sometime...

anyone with xbox live lets find a time to tear the city apart...

Just got it. I played it a little at my friends last night and had to buy it today. He had a burned copy. The game does take a bit to unfold but I saw a little bit of online play and man, it looks awesome. Anyone have it for 360? My gamer ID is beast richards.

Oh man, it's like..perfect. I spent three hours just driving around tonight, interspersed with walking the subway tracks to sneak into the locked areas before getting shot hard in the face by cops. No more Warhawk for a long time...

Help me guys.. I've been watching lots of videos from GTA IV just recently and it looks stunning! I've played all the previous games on a pc and I loved them... now this one seems to be perfect and like all review sites give it 10/10...

But I have no fucking clue on which console to buy... PS3 or XBOX360?!

Can someone shed some insights on the matter? Objective comments please ;)

PS3 is newer and maybe has more horsepower/potential in the end, but xbox360 has a ton more games because it's a year older or so... but what should I do?! Help please :)

Hmmm. Personally I'm XBOX360 all the way. It's an amazing console, has waaaaaaaay more games than the PS3 and, of course, there is XBOX Live too.

So, PS3 owners. Over to you....

Just look at the other games you think you might buy with the system that are out or are coming out. PS3 seems to be the better choice for multimedia with the blu-ray and has more power, but xbox has more games like you said, and a better online system but you have to pay. My brother got ps3 so I get to play it a little, whereas I have 360. Personally, I like 360 because I mostly just use it to play games and it has a lot more games the I want (the main reason I chose it).

Back on topic, this game is so damn addicting. I haven't played online yet, I'm gonna wait until I get further in the game. Gamertag is shadowshocker16 if anyone wants to join me.

On the PS3, You never have to pay to play online.
GTA IV Multiplayer is a hell of a lot of fun on either system.

I own all three new-gen systems.

I would choose the PS3 over the Xbox360. It has more potential for awesomeness in the future. The online capabilities on PS3 are free and will soon surpass Xbox Live when Playstation Home comes out in a few months. You can install Linux on the PS3 and use it as a full fledged computer. The library for PS3 is soon to burst, and WILL pass the xbox 360 in number of games and quality of games. This is beside the Bluray and multimedia capabilities including any flash drive and camera support. Although less comfortable, the controller for the PS3 is better rounded for all types of games.

Don't get me wrong, the Xbox 360 is a great system if you look past the poor hardware design (disks are easily ruined in it, overheats, laser degrades over time) It does currently hold a bigger game library and a superior online system. But again, that will change within the year.

You will be happy either way, but if you wanna plan ahead and have all the bells and whistles, get the PS3.

If I were you, I'd buy whichever console your friends have.

lol yeah, but the TV is gonna cost me Y290,000 !!! (thats about $2900 USD). i'm having to drive my wife crazy by nagging her constantly. i think i've almost broken her will. i also see the TV as kind of an investment in entertainment. i cant see me buying another one after this for at least 5 years. right now i have a little 14 inch CRT, and its killing my eyes and taking almost all the enjoyment out of videogaming. the one i'm getting i had a look at today, watch a bit of harry potter on blu-ray in the TV shop on it, really took my breath away. the wife was well impressed too. i cant wait to play GTA4, gran turismo 5 and initialD 4 on it! (and zelda all over again ^_^)

I've got a 46" 1080p Hitachi. I loooooove it. Have my computer hooked up to it at 1080i rez too. My video card wont handle 1080p for some reason. But I'll get linux on my ps3 soon so it wont matter.
