i think in a way a lot of us on this board are seperated and alienated people in the most wonderful sense of the word, because it gives us the power of unique experience and unique creativity.

yes, yes...all is alright with the world.

i'm impressed with the many different musical approaches you've captured with this album, boreal network. your unpredictable, varying melodies remind me of early/mid 90's demoscene vibes, coupled with modern programming sensibility.

this album delivers summertime anthems, abound.

boreal network is truly a force to be reckoned with.

that game was a nuclear force in the videogame world. i don't think there was a single sleepover from 1997 to 2000 that didn't involve goldeneye. at least ONE of your four friends had to have a 64. ah shit, who's gonna borrow me their controller...

when i wrote that tune and found the voice sample for the beginning part, i knew that was gonna be the title-bearing flagship track, so to speak. it really drove at the heart of the album i think, i think there's something really personal and human about that track especially with the bit from the group therapy lady talking about loneliness vs aloneness, where most of the other stuff is more impersonal and oriented outwards, it's more introspective and melancholy. videogames could bring people into your world, or they could isolate you. well, that's the corny after-the-fact 'artiste' explanation. the honest explanation is, i like quotes about self-separation and aloneness and existential alienation and it's all self indulgent psychoanalysis :p

I think DOS Image is my favorite track. The beginning of it has a really dreamy sound. I wish I could decipher what that lady is saying, I can't hear it at all.

I'm doing a work term programming for the EA Need for Speed team this fall. Maybe I can run the tunes by someone haha. Some of the tunes definitely remind me of an old arcade racing game.

My "favorite thing" is slime.

That game really had one of the most awesome endings ever. I had to find that out from YouTube though, because that is one fucking hard game.

Seconded man...been listening to this on steady rotation for the last few months. I know I've said this a dozen times Cole, but this is your best stuff to date. Look forward to hearing where you go from here. :)

it's from a video of a group therapy session. the lady is saying:

how many of you sometimes feel a feeling of aloneness inside, sometimes yes? but loneliness and aloneness are two different things. loneliness is what we feel when we want to connect to another person and somebody's not available to connect to us, but aloneness is the feeling we have when we are disconnected from ourselves.
