the length of a locked groove is the same length no matter how far from the centre. it's rotating at a fixed speed. the only thing that will decide the duration is the speed at which it should be played.

a locked groove at the beginning of a record will be longer than a locked groove near the end of the record. locked grooves that are the same length for the entire record would defy the laws of physics, surely?
Actually, Novayshun's correct. Imagine bits of marking tape placed in a line, one on each loop, radiating from the center of the LP. Regardless of the overall radius of each loop, the bits of marking tape will all make a full rotation in unison. So, the innermost loop, despite being smaller in radius, will be making one revolution in the same time as the larger, outermost loop.
What would defy physics is if all were making different revolutions at different times...the wax would fly apart, I'm afraid. (:
