Some of the other songs we recognized sound like a progression of an idea from Duffy onward, maaaybe filling that gap and explaining the subtlety. For ex, a playlist for hearing dual synthline work at play: Duffy (one synthline stays constant, the other holds the tune), 1986 Summer Fire (one synthline varies but slowly, the other varies by 2x and is accentuated by the choice of tone in the other), Melissa Juice (one varies significantly but in a repetitive tune while the other accentuates), Sixtyniner (more complex interplay between two synthlines), Oirectine (same idea), Sandrail (extreme exploration at the edge of the idea [edit: the 2 lines kinda act like 2 sand rails chasing each other]), Bocuma (exploring the melody more but bringing in some of the timing, tone shift and interplay too).
I wish I'd gone and listened to those 'Ophel Binuswade' clips, I have no idea about them (I'm guessing no one saved them). It does smell like some serious mystery stuff. Why would the videos *and* account just disappear (ex. not for copyright)? Seems funky, and not BOC-ish or even RSD-ish (I'd imagine most fakers would keep stuff up longer too, for max laffs). The clip names sound waaacky, as wacky as the name...where would some faker come up w/that? Anyway that's all I've got w/out hearing the clips.
If I'm following it all right, the connection to last.fm is the highest res HI image found, put up by bailenantrodach. If I had to guess, I'd lean towards Opothecary's take--bailenantrodach is official (I'd say actually one of the brothers if they didn't both have their own accounts). Wasn't most of the footwork for the RSD-related incidents put together by help based on theirs or group ideas (not directly them)? Warp folks? It's possible bailenantrodach is someone from the label, and even the choice of name would match the RSD sneakiness. I'm thinking we should keep an eye out at least

wait that's too conspiracy-ey, this one

there we go, frosty.
