Revisited the great segue of Transmisiones Ferox into Split Your Infinities, and thought I'd continue the palindromic thing, going straight from Split into Sick Times... Can't believe I've only just noticed the matching elements in the main drum patterns of those two - how did I ever miss that? Especially those hi-hats... No doubt someone mentioned it way back and I totally missed that too.
Trying to make some sense of Split Your Infinities that despite being more uptempo and maybe sonically 'brighter' than Sick Times, it creates just as much of a bad feeling - maybe even moreso - just in a different way. 'Bad' is a bit of a poor choice of word there... Get the sense from that chord progression on the earlier side of the tune that something has gone very wrong.
Toward the end of Nothing Is Real, the right channel has been stealing attention in a way it previously didn't, for me. Can't figure any of it out, though! The laser-like sound effects in this have been evoking a bit of a sci-fi, arcade game vibe

Yeah, part of the drums; the hi-hats in in particular. On Sick Times, they first kick-in at 1:30; On SYI, they fade in with the other percussion.
...But, in my perception at least, it sounds like their respective patterns are offset by 1 bar - so...
For Sick Times, the next bar is just before 1:33, and on SYI a clear 'start' of the percussion line is at 0:45; I'd go to those two times, and listen for the hat line in each.
They are different tempos of course - speeding up Sick Times to match SYI might make it easier to compare, but I'm not sure (much as I'm also not sure if this explanation is very good...)

I used to hate Jacquard Causeway, but I realized how similar it is to Autechre's Eutow and that let me look at the song in a new light

i never really got the cold war vibe from the album. and when listening to the album in the past, i was never really able to ever view any type of moving scene or imagery in my head from the music
well. when listening to it the other night, i couldnt help but get a very strong alien abduction vibe. gemini immediately gave me the vibe of something very foreign or alien happening. and then come to dust immediately went into some type of ufo landing or something like that. the helicopters in white cyclosa gave the vibe of government trying watch or gather info on a ufo landing. then jacquard causeway felt very extra dimensional.
i know it all sounds strange, and its tough for me to explain by typing over the internet. but i do remember people saying that when the first heard tomorrows harvest it had a strong alien or ufo vibe. and now i know exactly what they meant by that.

Also, for me this album went from sounding bleak and kinda ominous to almost comforting with recent listens for some reason.

To me they very consciously mimicked the structure of Geogaddi in terms of types of songs and where - or it could just be a coincidence that the fourth song on each is highly disorienting rhythm-wise. her way, they set the album up nicely-
Merry christmas (almost) all.
