i own a wii and i will be buying a PS3 in about 3 months. im just gonna buy my "sharp aquos brand" 42 inch full HD widescreen 2000:1 full 1080p LCD TV first, any day now ^_^. best LCD (ekishou) TV's in japan.

i bought the TV today!!! except i decided to get the 37 inch as opposed to the 42 inch as i got it for about $1000 (Y100000) cheaper with 5 years warranty. so actually i got it for about Y155000 ($1550USD). its truely is a thing of beauty ^_^. also bought special cables to get the most out of the visual display of my wii. its hard to explain what they are as they are a japan only hook-up. i hope to get the PS3 in about 2 months. i'm so stoked now for GTA4!

If you think about it, he has a point that there is a concern. But unlike what he says, it comes down to the games content not being the problem, but the idiots who decide to copy the content in real life that is the problem. But think of this: If you told a room full of people: 'go do this'. They most likely wouldn't do it. But if you asked 9 million people: 'go do this'. You probly will get a couple who will respond. So releasing this game might actually have been a hazard cause it will be sold to both those who are able to handle the material responsibly, AND the minority crowd of idiots who wont. It's not Rockstar's fault some people are idiots, but knowing there is a small crowd of of these idiots might warrant you some discretion. So being that there will most likely be a small amount of people that will handle the material improperly, considering the material on hand, it could be a large problem.

If we can keep this game out of children's hands and the idiotic/mentally disturbed peoples hands, we're good to go. But until we can be assured of this, there is, technically, some blood guilt on Rockstar's hands if something happens.

Now excuse me while I take my non-idiot mind and go play GTA4 with my buddy.

let the game issues commence!

i can't load the game properly when i'm logged in to the PSN network. Problem just started today.
If I sign off, start the game, and log back in when the game has already started, it then freezes the system.

Just my luck.. and on my birthday too.

You're definitely not the only one. I've read numerous reports on big failures with GTA 4 on either system; xbox360 or ps3. Both have epic failures.

1. huge framedrops
2. system complete lockup after first cutscene
3. random freezes of 1-2 sec in game each 20-25 seconds

Very annoying to say the least and a huge smack in the face of Rockstar and Take Two.

Amongs other things you'll have to completely disable the internet when playing the game, disable the vibrant fuction, remove savegames, delete gamefiles and reinstall...

I've seen the most positive comments after people removed the ethernet cable from the console... must be something network related then that causes the game to freeze and become unresponsive. Hopefully this is of any help to you.

I think I hold off buying a console for now with all these xboxes rrod'ing and ps3's freezing... blegh

long time no post here, but here we go: i've bought a ps3 just for GTAIV last week, and i must say it has been great.

i had the same problem with the crashing, but turning of the PSN helps. it's fun to kick ass in a town that looks quite photorealistic

Crazy! I haven't had a problem with mine yet... But thanks for the info on this problem. It's quite lame it would do that. I think a $60.00 game should run perfect.

Oh yeah, another thing. I know a lot of people who leave their XBOX 360 on all the time. Playing a game for like 4 hrs straight then pausing it and leaving the house for 3 hrs then coming home to play it for another 4 hrs leaving the XBOX 360 on for a total of 11 hrs sometimes even longer. You can't do that to any system. It needs time to cool off and you must not over run it, it causes hardware failure along with laser damage to your constant running disc.

So a lot of it is the gamers own fault.

Have you guys seen the GTA4 PS3 vs Xbox360 comparison videos? PS3 looks much better.

HERE is one, look for others as well.

PS3 is much more vibrant and is running with much better shaders. Xbox360 is not too far behind, however, the cars look plastic on the 360 and metal on the PS3.
